Charging a Pre-Authorisation 

If a booking has a pre-authorisation attached, you can charge it directly through Now Book It. Bookings with a pre-auth show a card symbol in the diary.

Charge from the Payments tab

  1. Open the booking.
  2. Go to the Payments tab.
  3. Click Manage Pre-Auth.
  4. Choose Release or Charge in the pop-up window.
  5. Confirm = the payment will be released or charged.

Charge by changing the booking status

  1. Change the booking status to Cancelled or No Show.
  2. Choose Release or Charge in the Manage Pre-Auth pop-up window.
  3. Confirm — the payment will be released or charged.

Good to know

You can charge less than the full pre-auth amount using the scroll buttons next to Amount. Releasing a pre-auth is final, you can't recover the payment details afterwards. The customer gets an email as soon as the pre-auth is charged.
