Creating and Managing Layouts and Tables

Layouts let you add tables to your Diary and configure their shape, capacity, table joins and availability. You can set up multiple layouts per section.

Creating a new layout

  1. Go to Venue Settings > Tables > Layouts.
  2. Click the + New layout button.
  3. Enter a Name for the layout.
  4. From the drop-down menu, select the Section you'd like to apply this layout to. You can have multiple layouts per section.

Adding tables to a layout

  1. Click the + Add Table button to add a table.
  2. Enter a Name for the table (it's name or number in the venue).
  3. Set a Priority for the table. Priority is how the system allocates tables in the Diary and booking widget, filling the best tables first. Tables that aren't joins are prioritised over joined tables. Priority 1 is offered before Priority 2, and so on. Give your most desirable tables Priority 1, and less desirable tables a lower priority.
  4. Enter the table's Max Capacity (without table joins).
  5. Enter the table's Min Capacity.
  6. From the drop-down menu, select the table's Availability:
    a. All: available for online bookings, diary bookings and walk-ins.
    b. Diary only: only offered for manual diary bookings, not the online widget.
    c. Walk-ins only: not available in the online widget. These tables show red in the Diary to flag they're not bookable online, though this can be overridden manually.
  7. Tick Shared if this is a communal table. Set a Min capacity (e.g. 1) and Max capacity (e.g. 10), and the system will automatically allocate bookings here until the table is full.

Duplicating a layout

Duplicating is a quick way to build an alternate table layout which is handy if your venue uses a different table setup for certain days or services (for example, weekdays vs. Friday–Sunday), or for a one-off event layout.

  1. Go to Venue Settings > Tables > Layouts.
  2. Click the duplicate icon on the right-hand side, next to the trash can icon.
  3. Rename the duplicated layout, update its section, and edit the tables within it as needed.
  4. Click Save.

Note: layouts can also be assigned to a specific day via the Events tab. For example, a Valentine's Day layout made up entirely of two pax.

Deleting a layout

  1. Go to Venue Settings > Tables > Layouts.
  2. Click the red trash can icon at the end of the layout's row.
