Booking tags

Tags let you label bookings and customers with useful information such as dietary needs, accessibility requirements, special occasions, or VIP status. Tags appear on bookings in the diary and, where enabled, on the online booking widget.

To add, customise or review your available tags go to Settings > Bookings > Tags

  • Online – when this toggle is on, the tag can be shown and selected on the online booking widget. If it's off, the tag is only available internally (for example, in the diary).
  • Permanent – tags marked Permanent automatically appear on all future bookings for that customer, not just the booking they were first added to.
  • Shared – shared tags are common across every restaurant or venue under the same account, and are managed centrally in the admin console rather than from an individual venue's Tags page.
  • Ordering – use the up and down arrows next to each tag to change the order tags are displayed online and in the diary.

To create a new tag

  1. Go to Settings > Bookings > Tags.
  2. Select + New tag, at the top right of the Tags list.
  3. In the New Tag dialog, complete the following:
    a. Type – choose a category for the tag: Accessibility, Allergy, Children, Dietary, Occasion, Other, or VIP.
    b. Icon – select an icon to represent the tag from the searchable icon list.
    c. Colour – choose a colour for the tag (for example, Black, Dark Red, Purple, Orange, Green, or Blue).
    d. Name – enter the name of the tag as it will appear to staff (and to customers, if Online is enabled).
  4. Tick Online if the tag should be available on the online booking widget.
  5. Tick Permanent if the tag should automatically apply to all future bookings for a customer, once added.
  6. Select Save to create the tag, or Cancel to discard it.

The new tag will now appear in the Tags list and can be applied to bookings or customers from the diary.

To edit or remove a tag

  • Select the pencil icon next to a tag to edit its type, icon, colour, name, or Online / Permanent settings.
  • Select the bin icon next to a tag to delete it.
  • Shared tags can't be edited or deleted from this page, they must be managed in the Organisation Settings.
